Our Regular Spots

Glover Park

Picture of Glover Park
50 N Park Square, Marietta, GA 30060

At the center of the square is historic Glover Park, a great place for picnics, photos and playtime. During the 19th century, the land was donated by Mayor John Glover with the stipulation that the site must always remain a park or it will revert to his heirs. A fountain sits at the heart of the park, but children will make a bee-line for the train engine playground area featuring a replica of the famous locomotive known as The General. The gazebo on site is a wonderful destination for photos and for weddings. Opposite it, the “bandstand” (or stage) is a focal point for concerts and events.

When they brought Sweetwater Brewing Company co-founder, Kevin McNerney into the fold, they knew they had something truly special brewing. Located in a 1930s era brick building just steps away from the Marietta Square, our taproom can be found on the terrace level just inside our dog-friendly beer garden.

City Club Marietta presents challenging shot selections and new Tif-Eagle Bermuda greens while providing an incredible golfing experience. The course has presented golfers with 10 decades of the finest playing experience among these rolling hills, towering pines, and spectacular Southern vistas Marietta has to offer. The club was born in 1915 when members of the Marietta Country Club designed the first 9 hole layout on the site of the Georgia Military Institute. That first design featured holes that encircled the clubhouse and ran along Powder Springs Street. In the 1960s, the City Club Marietta golf course expanded to a full 18 holes. The course first opened to the public in 1991, after the City of Marietta purchased it and hired Mike Young Designs to complete a renovation.  All these years later, this almost hidden course continues to give the Marietta golf community a challenging, mountain course at a reasonable price. With a convenient location near the Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Conference Center, we are always available to host your next group outing.
